Michigan House Republicans.
The state House today approved legislation by state Rep. Peter Lucido, of Shelby Township, to allow expert testimony during human trafficking cases.
“Expert witnesses are another reliable resource to go with victims’ testimony,” said Lucido, who serves as vice-chair on the House Law and Justice Committee. “We must give the victims an additional credible voice as an option to be used in these cases. Psychologists can talk about sex abuse, controlling behavior and physical or mental trauma, which these victims often are subjected to in this type of environment.”
