A 19-year-old woman is being accused of forcing another woman into the sex trade in order obtain money to pay off a debt.
The 39-year-old victim told police that she met the 19-year-old woman sometime in Hamilton in 2016. She was recruited to work as a paid escort in order to repay a debt she owed the suspect.
The victim initially refused to work in the sex trade, but police say the suspect was “persistent.”
