Cleveland man accused of persuading child to produce depiction of ‘sexually explicit conduct’

After an investigation due to suspicious online activity, a 31-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with one count of child exploitation for knowingly persuading a child to produce a depiction of sexually explicit conduct.

According to Attorney General Jim Hood, Kendrick Quintarius Gates was arrested Saturday, Jan. 19th, and has been booked into the Bolivar County Detention Center. He is awaiting his initial appearance at the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office.

If convicted, Gates could face up to 40 years in prison.
